The ruby belongs to the corundum family, which are crystals mainly composed of aluminium and oxygen. They are touted for their extreme hardness (9 on the mohs scale) and durability, making them very easy and safe to wear.
Rubies are very similar to sapphires. In fact, they are literally red sapphires. Their chemical structure differs in that rubies display a presence of chrome in the crystal.
They display a myriad of red hues, ranging from a warm red, to an opaque rose; and even a deep, crimson red.
For accurate sizing, we recommend you take the measurement of the circumference of your wrist with a measuring tape. The tape shouldn't be too tight around your wrist.
Your bracelet will stretch by approximately 0.5cm over the course of a few days of wear time, so a moderately snug fit is what we recommend when picking your size.
If you are in between sizes, pick the smaller size for a tight fit, or the bigger size for a looser fit. Alternatively, we can custom make the bracelet for you.
For accurate sizing, we recommend that you use a dedicated ring sizer, which we can send for free on request. Please make sure that the ring sizer is not too tight around your finger when measuring.
Because our fingers change sizes during the day and depending on whether it's hot or cold, you should measure your finger size in the morning and in the evening, and take the bigger size so that you can wear the ring at all times.
